We have many ideas for Side Hustle Stack, but no one is better qualified to tell us what is needed than you. We want to hear from you on the most important things we can do to empower creators, independent earners, and gig workers as we head into 2021.

In January, we will be conducting 1-on-1 conversations with anyone who is eager to share their thoughts on their current experience earning income through side hustles. These will be informal conversations: we want to get a better sense for who you are and how you are navigating this ecosystem. In addition to helping shape the future of Side Hustle Stack, select respondents will also be profiled in future editions of this newsletter.

One of the core principles behind Side Hustle Stack is a deep interest in the nature of work. To that end, we’re excited to announce a media partnership with The Wall Street Journal Future of Everything event series. Next month, the series will be focused on the Future of Leadership, and you are invited to a free event on January 21st, 2021:

What does effective leadership look like in a time of global crisis? In a wide-ranging series of sessions with leaders across business, technology, and government, we explore the traits, skills and strategies required to guide organizations to success during periods of economic and social uncertainty. We'll explore the roles leaders have from outside the corner office, from corporate advisors to board members. Meet us online January 21 from 7:00-8:15 p.m. ET.
Our first confirmed speaker is Kohl’s CEO Michelle Gass. After closing its 1,200 stores and furloughing 85,000 employees this spring, she‘s had to figure out how to make sure the retailer both had enough cash to survive and had new ways to support its staff.
