Happy 1 Month Birthday to Side Hustle Stack! 🎂
On our first month & other milestones. Plus, new platforms for earning.
This week marked the one-month birthday of Side Hustle Stack and we celebrated it by crossing 2M page views! 🎉🎉🎉 (Note our Google Analytics was broken until mid-December, so it’s actually higher!)
In celebration of this milestone, we created a TikTok account and are posting content regularly! Find us at @sidehustlestack.

💬 Why Side Hustle Stack
Side Hustle Stack was born out of a few factors. Firstly, our co-founder Li was regularly writing about the future of work and the evolution of gig work, and many new platform founders regularly contacted her to explain how workers could leverage their companies for making money. Rather than just keeping this knowledge to herself, she wanted to create a public resource that could help prospective workers & platform companies get connected to each other.
But the backdrop is much broader, too. A multi-decade shift towards self-employment has been occurring in America, and new digital platforms have eased the path for many more people to find work online and leave traditional employment arrangements. From gig platforms to creator platforms to digitally-enabled entrepreneurship, we realized that this landscape can be overwhelming to navigate, especially for someone just starting out. This proliferation of new platforms, coupled with the devastatingly economic fallout from COVID, led us to create the site as a resource for workers.
Peter C. Evans, who writes the Platform Professional, recently wrote a blog about Side Hustle Stack where he explores some of these ideas:
“Side Hustle Stack . . . recognizes the growing significance of the platforms to efficiently connect supply and demand not only for things like rides and accommodations but for creators seeking ways to earn a livelihood. . . [and] it taps into the need for solutions to the economic stress that Covid-19 has created.”
He also created cool interactive chart mapping the component of Side Hustle Stack (hint: there’s lots of loops).
